Includes statistical compilations reflecting minority involvement within the institutions. The files describe college programs designed to attract minority participation in college activities. 2. Legislative matters, 1973-1986. Contains bills and analyses of selected legislation that was considered and passed by the House and Senate. Includes speeches and correspondence covering topics such as equal opportunity employment, financing of public schools, and mental health.

A native of Detroit, Teola Hunter graduated from Cass Technical High School in 1949. Hunter continued her education at the University of Detroit where she earned a B.S. degree in education (1958). In 1971, she receive a M.A. in elementary school guidance and counseling from Wayne State University. Before entering politics, Hunter taught for the Detroit Public School System (ca. 1958-1974), and founded and operated Buttons and Bows Nurseries and Preparatory School (established c. 1971).
